by Jihaan Savla on Oct 29, 2026
Quick answer: For a five-day wedding, pack eight to ten pieces that mix and match: two necklace sets, three pairs of earrings, one set of bangles, a maang tikka, and two small extras. Keep one metal tone, change the hero piece each day, and pack in pouches. Saloni Fashion Jewellery, Mumbai, ships free across India.

A five-day wedding means five or more outfits and a suitcase with a weight limit. Packing a full set for every function is expensive and heavy. A capsule is smarter: a small group of pieces that work in many combinations, so each day looks new even though the pieces repeat. Most of what we sell is fashion jewellery in plated brass or alloy, not solid gold, and a very few pieces are genuine sterling silver, which also makes a capsule easy on the budget and on the luggage.
How many pieces do I need for a five-day wedding?
Eight to ten pieces cover five days comfortably. A good split is two necklace sets (one bold, one light), three earrings (a jhumka, a drop and a stud), one set of bangles, one maang tikka, and one or two extras such as a ring or a nath. Because the earrings and necklaces mix across outfits, you get far more than ten looks. Our function-by-function planner shows which function wants which weight.
Which metal tone and colours should the capsule follow?
Pick one metal tone, usually antique gold or gold tone, because it goes with most outfit colours. Then choose stones in one or two neutral shades such as white, pearl or a soft green. Neutral stones let you swap between a red, pink or blue outfit without changing the set. Browse antique gold jewellery and white kundan and pearl jewellery as a starting point, and read how to mix gold and silver tone if you want a second tone.
What should I wear on each of the five days?
Start light and build. Day one (arrival or mehndi) suits colourful, light pieces such as kundan mehndi jewellery. Day two (haldi) wants small, easy pieces you do not mind getting marked; see haldi jewellery. Day three (sangeet) is a good time for statement earrings and bangles that move, and sangeet jewellery helps. Day four (the wedding) takes your boldest necklace set. Day five (reception or farewell) can repeat a piece from day two or three with a new outfit.
How do I make repeated pieces look new?
Change the hero and keep the rest. Wear the bold necklace set on the wedding day, then wear only its earrings with a plain outfit on day five. Swap a maang tikka for a sleek hairstyle, or move a bangle stack from both wrists to one. Layering a second chain, as in our how to layer jewellery guide, also changes a familiar piece. Photos from different functions will look different because the outfit and hair do the work.
How do I pack jewellery safely for the trip?
Use one small pouch per outfit, with the full look inside, so you do not hunt for pieces at the last minute. Keep necklaces clasped and wrapped in tissue so chains do not tangle, and put earrings in a small box or on a card. Carry the bag with you rather than checking it. Our guide to packing jewellery for a destination wedding has a longer checklist, and the storage guide helps after the trip.
What should I do if the plan or the weather changes?
Keep one flexible swap in the capsule for exactly this. A pair of neutral studs and a slim chain suits almost any outfit if a function changes dress code at the last minute. If a function moves outdoors or into a hot hall, choose lighter earrings and skip the heaviest necklace; if it turns formal, add the maang tikka or the bangles you held back. Write the outfit and the matching jewellery on a small card in each pouch so a sister or a friend can help you dress in a hurry. Also take one pair of backup earring backs and a small pouch for pieces you take off during the day, because the most common loss at a big wedding is a single earring or a bangle that slips off during dancing. A quick check of the pouch at night means you start the next day complete.
When should I order the pieces?
Order at least two to three weeks before you travel. Delivery across India takes 4 to 15 days, dispatch is 1 to 2 days, and shipping is free, so ordering early leaves time to check each piece against your outfit. If you are close to the date, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether a design can reach you in time. Jewellery combo sets are a convenient way to buy a matching group in one order.
