Does the listing say what the jewellery is made of?

Look for a clear material line, such as gold plated brass or alloy with stones. Be careful with vague words like premium or luxury that say nothing about the metal. Are the size and weight given in the listing?

Photos hide scale. A good listing gives the length of a necklace, the drop of an earring and the inner size of a bangle, and often the weight. Do the photos match the real piece?

Look for several clear photos from different angles, including the back, and be wary if every image is a close-up on a model with heavy editing. Compare the colour in the photos across the page, and ask for a short video if you are unsure. Remember that screens differ a little, so a gold tone can look warmer or cooler on your phone.

How long will delivery take?

What should I do when my jewellery parcel arrives?

Open it soon after delivery and check every piece against the order: the right design, the right colour, all stones in place, clasps and hooks working, and no dents or scratches from transit. If something is damaged, defective or wrong, take clear photos and message the seller straight away, because refund windows are short. Keep the pouch and packaging until you are sure you are happy. What are the warning signs of a seller to avoid?

Be careful if prices look impossibly low for the claimed material, if the listing says solid gold or real silver for a very small price, if there are no sizes or measurements, if every review looks identical, or if the only way to reach the seller is a form with no reply. Also avoid sellers who push you to pay outside the website. A clear address, a visible policy and a real person on WhatsApp remove most of these worries.
