Where can I buy necklaces online in India?
Saloni Fashion Jewellery, a Mumbai brand with a showroom in Santacruz West, has 205 necklaces in this collection: kundan and uncut-stone chokers for brides, American diamond and CZ necklaces for parties, pearl pieces for festivals, and light gold-plated chains for daily wear. They are fashion jewellery in plated brass or alloy, not solid gold, with free shipping across India, dispatch in 1-2 days and delivery in 4-15 days.
What are these necklaces made of?
Brass and alloy bases finished in gold, antique gold, rose gold or silver plating, set with kundan, cubic zirconia, pearls, and coloured stones. This is imitation and fashion jewellery — it gives the weight and finish of traditional gold work at a price point that lets you own a piece for every occasion.
How do I pick the right necklace length?
Chokers sit at the base of the neck and suit high-neck blouses and lehengas. Mid-length necklaces (18–22 inches) are the safest all-rounder. Long harams pair with sarees and are usually layered over a choker for bridal looks.
What is Kundan?
Kundan is a setting technique, not a stone. Uncut stones are held in place by pressing refined metal foil around their edges instead of using claws or prongs, which is what produces the flat, smooth, glass-like surface across our choker and necklace sets. It is one of the oldest jewellery techniques still practised in India. The stones in our pieces are uncut glass and cubic zirconia, not diamonds.
How long does the gold plating last?
Roughly one to three years with regular wear, and longer for occasion pieces worn a few times a year. Plating is a surface finish rather than a karat value, which is why you will not see us quote something like 18K or 22K on a plated necklace — that number describes solid gold, and using it here would be misleading. Perfume, sweat and household cleaners are what wear it down fastest.
Can I wear these necklaces every day?
The light gold-plated chains are made for it. The heavier kundan and CZ pieces are built for occasions and will hold their finish far longer if treated that way. If you want one necklace for daily wear, choose a plain plated chain and keep the stone-set pieces for functions.
